Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to give website owners basic information about how their site is being used.
Not all analytics require cookies. The analytics we use does not set tracking cookies, though it writes a short-lived anonymous session identifier to your browser's localStorage to avoid counting the same visitor twice. We disclose this under the EU ePrivacy Directive even though it is not technically a cookie.
2. Cookies We Use
SiteProof AI uses a minimal set of cookies and browser storage. The full inventory is below.
| Name | Purpose | Category | Duration | Control |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sb-access-token sb-refresh-token | Supabase authentication — keeps you logged in and securely identifies your session | Essential | Session / 1 hour | Cannot be disabled — required for login to function |
| Vercel Web Analytics (localStorage session id) | Aggregate, anonymous page-view counts. Vercel Web Analytics does not set tracking cookies, but it does write a short-lived anonymous session identifier to localStorage to deduplicate views from the same visitor within a session. No personal data, IP, or cross-site identifier is stored. | Analytics | Session (localStorage) | Opt-out by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser (Vercel respects this signal) or by blocking va.vercel-scripts.com in your browser. Clearing site data also removes the session id. |
| cookie_consent | Remembers that you acknowledged our cookie notice so the banner does not reappear on subsequent visits | Functional | 1 year | Stored in localStorage, not a cookie. Clear via your browser's developer tools or site data settings at any time |
3. What We Don't Use
We do not use any of the following:
- Advertising or marketing cookies
- Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, or any other third-party tracking scripts
- Cross-site tracking cookies that follow you around the web
- Fingerprinting technologies
- Any cookie or storage mechanism tied to the sale or sharing of your data with third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.
4. Your Choices
Essential cookies cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. If you delete or block the Supabase session cookies, you will be signed out and will not be able to log back in without re-authenticating.
Vercel Web Analytics does not set tracking cookies but writes an anonymous session identifier to localStorage. Opt out by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser (Vercel respects the signal), by blocking va.vercel-scripts.com with an extension like uBlock Origin, or by clearing the site's localStorage in DevTools.
The cookie notice banner is controlled by a localStorage entry called cookie_consent. To reset it and see the banner again, open your browser's developer tools (F12), go to Application → Local Storage → https://siteproofai.com, and delete the cookie_consent key.
